FOTD & OOTD: Maine's Leavers Night Out

I work with an amazing woman called Maine who has really made me feel welcomed and part of the team since I started, we have had some good chats, been to Hull Fair together and danced at the Christmas party so to hear that Maine was leaving was sad, I know it is what she wants, she can progress in her new job and it's a job where she is going to work with friends of ours so we decided to go to her hometown of Hull on a night out.

Makeup Collection 2019 #Blogmas2019

I love being nosy in other people collection now before we start most of this makeup I have purchased myself with my money, they were either gifted by family and friends for special occasions like birthdays and Christmas and then there is some that I have swapped with my sister.
The drawers are from IKEA called MOPPE, they sell skinnier versions now but these aren't available anymore.

BATTLE OF THE DUPES #10: MAC vs. wet n wild

My first MAC lipstick was Creme Cup, this is my second tube of this lipstick so you can tell I like it and when I came across Pinterest dupes and that there was a wet n wild dupe I had to check it out. Just want to apologise for the quality of the pictures, I took them at 5am when I get up and do my makeup so it was dark but they were taken on my iPhone, when I first started writing this blog back in 2018 I had a Canon DSLR but sold it to my brother and still haven't repurchased a new camera but I do plan to.
My lips prior were smooth and pretty similar in pigment.
Clearly this isn't a dupe as you can see.
MAC Lipstick
Purchased from: MAC
Shade: Creme Cup
Price: £17.50

wet n wild MegaLast Lip Color
Purchased from: Boots
Shade: Think Pink
Price: £2.99

I couldn't really tell you what lasts the longest or what is better because I wasn't walking around with my lips like that.
Is it a dupe: No

Date Tried: Monday 10th June 2019

BATTLE OF THE DUPES #7: MAC vs. wet n wild

A couple of years ago MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy was a big hit, everybody was wearing it and I remember that it was hard to get your hands on so Pinterest was covered in dupe pictures so I thought I would put one to the test.
My lips are in a decent state, I suffer with dry skin and dry lips but today was a good lip day.
I applied on my right (left in the picture) the MAC lipstick on half of my lips and on my left (right in the picture) the wet n wild lipstick. It was easier to apply the MAC, I think it's the shape of the bullet, it is neater but still both lovely colours however they are not the same. Just a quick note, I applied this at 5:30am, that is when I have to get up to go to work.
UPDATE #1 (6am): Half an hour after applying the lipstick and you can see in different lighting the differences in the shades.
UPDATE #2 (7am): Got my usual morning Starbucks and quickly took a drink, the wet n wild transfers more onto the cup the the MAC one.

UPDATE #3 (8pm): Several cups of coffee later, lunch and various conversations and I am back home. There are still a little MAC lipstick left on the lips whereas the wet n wild has completely gone.
MAC Lipstick
Purchased from: MAC
Shade: Velvet Teddy
Price: £17.50

wet n wild MegaLast Lip Color
Purchased from: Boots
Shade: Bare It All
Price: £2.99

Nicest to apply: MAC
Lasts longest: MAC
Looks the best longest: MAC

Overall the MAC is better, lasts longer but if you don't mind reapplying your lipstick and you want something similar then grab yourself the wet n wild. Photo below shows MAC swatch on the top and wet n wild on the bottom.
Is it a dupe: No

Date Tried: Thursday 23rd May 2019

BATTLE OF THE DUPES #6: Benefit vs. wet n wild

In 2016 Benefit Cosmetics sold a Hoola Bronzer every 10 seconds and in 2019 they expanded this to range to having four shades now but I saw people putting up dupes on social media for the original bronzer so I thought I would put one of them to the test which is the wet n wild MegaGlo Contouring Palette. I got my Benefit product in a Christmas gift set so when compare the products below and link the product I will be linking the original sized Hoola. wet n wild has only just come over to the UK so if you are looking to purchase this then check out your local Boots store or even on their website, link is below.
Sorry about the state of my skin but I have really dry skin and use a setting spray to make the look, look a little better.

REVIEW: The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer

I am going to try this primer with a variety of foundations with half of the face with the primer (my right, your left) and the other half no primer (my left, your right) to see if it is worth it. I am also using all of the same makeup like bronzer, highlighter etc even eyeshadow so that it's a fair test.
CLAIMS:
  • lightweight serum-like formula that increases the spreadability of subsequent complexion makeup to help avoid the unnatural and uneven accumulation of pigments especially around the eyes and on dry skin
  • formula also acts as a light, non-oily surface hydrator for a natural dewy look
HOW TO USE:
  1. Use as the last step in skincare regimen as a makeup primer.
